2019 Campaign Kickoff and CEO Trike Race Recap

Bob Hardaway, United Way of Northwest Georgia Campaign Chairman, announced the 2019-2020 Campaign Goal of $4.125 Million for Whitfield & Murray County at the Kickoff Block Party and CEO Trike Race on September 17th at Burr Park.

Local CEOs raced to the finish line at the 8th annual CEO Trike Race, with Dorsett Industries winning the race. Congratulations!! United Way annually impacts education, basic needs, and health of over 55,000 people in our community. The mission is simple: Improving Lives. Inspiring Donors. Uniting Community.

“This year’s goal is our largest yet. We want to ensure that needs are continuing to be met in our community,” remarked Bob Hardaway.

“Each year United Way of Northwest Georgia has a dynamic leader to spearhead our campaign.  This year is no exception. Bob Hardaway raised his hand to lead the charge and assembled a team of committed and caring individuals who have reached out to their friends and colleagues to ask for their support.  I have no doubt our record-breaking goal of $4.125 million will be met. United Way’s success is an important part of our community’s overall success,” shared United Way President, Amanda Burt.

“We’re here to fight for the education, basic needs, and health of every person in our community. Over 50 United Way volunteers annually analyze the needs of the community, making sure your gift meets the most critical needs in the most efficient and effective way.  I love United Way’s mission, and I’m proud to be a part of the team,” noted United Way Board Chairman, Kim Thames.

United Way has a local board of directors and over 3,000 volunteers ensuring that funds are put to the highest and best use. We all win when a child succeeds in school, when families’ basic needs are met, and when people make healthy choices.

“United Way isn’t about short-term charity, it’s about lasting change.  The organization looks at the big picture: what resources are lacking – down to food, shelter, and health needs – and how we can address these to ensure a better future for us all. It takes everyone working together to create a better community,” stated Bob Hardaway

We're in the business of building better futures. Let's do something about it.
