2024 Youth United goLEAD Application

WHEN: Tuesday, July 30 - Thursday, August 1, 2024 9:00 am – 5:00 pm

WHAT: Get involved and tackle tough issues in our community through service learning, team work, and volunteerism. Have fun and make a difference! We are partnering with UGA’s Fanning Institute staff to facilitate a 3-day leadership program. Students will learn about their leadership styles, develop communication and conflict management skills, and complete team-building activities. Each day will begin at the United Way Center for Community Engagement (816 S. Thornton Ave. Dalton, Ga 30720). The other half of the day will be spent out in the community volunteering, touring partner agencies, and meeting with corporate and civic leaders. Those who complete the goLEAD training will earn a certificate of completion. Open to upcoming sophomores, juniors and seniors in Whitfield and Murray Counties.

ACCEPTANCE: Registration is on a first-come, first serve basis. Space is limited. There is a registration fee of $60. Payment includes lunch each day, transportation, snacks, materials for projects and a tshirt. 

DEADLINE for applications is May 10, 2024. Confirmation of acceptance to goLEAD will be emailed by May 23, 2024.
