Women's History Month at United Way

Every year, March is designated Women’s History Month by presidential proclamation. The month is set aside to honor women’s contributions in American history.

We wanted to take the time to recognize all the influential women that have made our local community so great! United Way of Northwest Georgia was started on a bet made by a woman to raise money for those in need, right here, in Whitfield and Murray Counties. We continue the legacy of her work by raising funds each year, $4.125 million to be more precise, for individuals and families in need within our local community!

We are also proud to operate with an all women staff, have a meaningful influence with over 300 members in our Women’s Leadership Council, make lasting change with 42 female volunteers that serve on our committees and cabinets, and to have 12 passionate women leading United Way on our Board of Directors! Now that's what we call girl power!

Also don’t forget to join us in celebrating International Women’s Day on March 8, 2022 as we recognize our Women’s Leadership Council and all that they accomplish throughout the year.
