Power of the Purse

The 4th Annual Power of the Purse will be bigger, bolder, and more inspiring than ever! This signature event brings together hundreds of local women who are passionate about strengthening our community through giving, advocating, and volunteering in support of literacy initiatives and United Way programs.

Guests will enjoy a lively luncheon filled with fun, fashion, and philanthropy — featuring fabulous mid- to high-end purse raffles, exciting door prizes, and an empowering keynote speaker who will share her personal journey and inspire others to lead boldly. Women from across our community come together to connect, celebrate, and make a meaningful difference — one purse at a time.

2026 Keynote Speaker:
Ellen Skrmetti

Ellen Skrmetti is the creator of the wildly popular “Hey Jesus, It’s Me” videos, where she humorously “calls” on the Lord to weigh in on everything from motherhood and menopause to faith and everyday life. Through her signature Southern storytelling, Ellen brings laughter, honesty, and heart to conversations many women quietly carry.

A lifelong performer who once stepped away from the stage due to severe stage fright, Ellen returned during the pandemic with short Instagram videos meant to bring joy and encouragement. What began as 30-second reflections quickly resonated with thousands.
