Youth United

What is Youth United?

Youth United is United Way of Northwest Georgia's youth engagement and leadership initiative, connecting high school students with meaningful opportunities to serve, lead, and make a difference in their community.

Whether you're looking for a one-day volunteer experience, a week of service, or a deeper leadership commitment, Youth United offers opportunities for students in grades 9–12 to get involved at a level that fits their interests and schedule. Through volunteer projects, leadership development, community engagement, and service-learning experiences, students gain valuable skills while creating lasting impact across Northwest Georgia.

Explore the opportunities below to find the Youth United experience that's right for you.

Ignite.
Motivate.
Participate.
Act.
Connect.
Thrive.

A week-long volunteer experience that connects high school students with local nonprofits and community projects during spring break. Participants serve alongside peers, learn about community needs, and make a meaningful impact across Northwest Georgia.

Designed specifically for rising sophomores, Sophomore Serve Day offers a one-day introduction to volunteerism and community engagement through hands-on service projects and opportunities to connect with local nonprofit organizations.

A year-long leadership development program for high school juniors that combines service, civic engagement, and leadership training. Through interactive modules, volunteer experiences, and community partnerships, students build the skills and confidence to lead and serve.

The capstone leadership experience of Youth United, Senior Ambassadors prepares students for success beyond high school through leadership development, community engagement, and career exploration. Ambassadors connect with local business and community leaders, participate in college and career readiness experiences, lead volunteer projects, and mentor younger Youth United participants while building the skills and relationships needed for future success.
