Community Partners Updates

  • American Red Cross – we continue to work virtually; all disaster calls are answered, and when possible, we provide services virtually.

  • Big Brothers Big Sisters - Our offices are open to volunteers/clients for intakes/interviews.  We are allowing small groups (less than 10 people) to meet in our offices. Our site-based program has been allowed to begin in the Whitfield County Schools and Murray County Schools.   Our community-based matches will continue to choose individually what is best for them in terms of seeing each other.  Internally we are following the CDC Guidelines on exposure.

  • Birth Defects Center - Our service delivery has not changed. We remain open with the outpatient clinic at full capacity. Hospital PPE requirements and limited visitor policies remain in force. We continue to do virtual prenatal consults as visitors are not allowed in our building.

  • Boy Scouts of America - local offices still operating, all COVID protocols in place.  All unit, district, and council events operating under procedures found at: https://www.scouting.org/coronavirus/

  • Boys & Girls Clubs - are open and moving forward.  We are doing Temp checks, masks are worn by staff, and encouraged that members wear masks as well.

  • Carter Hope – All staff and residents at our facility are fully vaccinated with the exception of some new clients.  New clients start the process of vaccination within their first week at the facility.  We are back in in-person groups.  We continue to hold beds open in case a need to quarantine an individual arises.

  • CrossPlains – still accepting tours but just in the conference room

  • DEO Clinic - locked lobby and admit patients individually after asking COVID questions. Also, we have COVID vaccines this Sunday from noon to 5 p.m. at Mack Gaston!  DEO operating fully, screening patients, volunteers, and staff.  No quarantines at this point.  Patients with COVID are treated by phone.

  • 4-H Murray - Social distancing required and daily disinfecting.  Masks are required while riding in vehicles. Temperature checks before events.

  • 4-H Whitfield – no restrictions

  • Family Frameworks – no restrictions

  • Family Support Council – no restrictions

Mental Health services and prevention education have both moved to virtual format for the foreseeable future. Volunteer projects have been conducted when no one else is present, asking all volunteers to wear masks during their service. Rock & Rappel will continue this weekend with participants being asked to comply with Over the Edge’s COVID-19 policies and hosting the event outdoors to reduce risk.

  • Girl Scouts -  updated COVID guidelines for our volunteer Girl Scout community on our website.
