Autumn is here! As the leaves turn brilliant shades and the air cools to that perfect southern crisp, there is something special about fall in Northwest Georgia. For me, it is the season of giving, and nothing captures this spirit better than our United Way campaign.
Karen Townsend and Bradley Austin, the 2024 Campaign Co-Chairs for United Way of Northwest Georgia, unveiled the 2024-2025 Campaign Goal of $4.155 million during Tuesday night's Campaign Kickoff Party and CEO Trike Race at Burr Park; they were joined in support by the Campaign Cabinet and Board of Directors. The evening was filled with excitement as companies led by their CEOs competed in the 12th annual CEO Trike Race, with Dorsett Industries emerging victorious.
Get ready to feel the excitement as we gear up for the 2024 United Way campaign! Leading the charge are the energetic and passionate mother-daughter team, Bradley Austin and Karen Townsend. With their infectious enthusiasm, I am confident this year's campaign will be a resounding success, touching the lives of many in Whitfield and Murray counties.
Empowerment, teamwork, and community service defined the experience for eleven local teens who recently completed the United Way's GoLEAD program from July 30 to August 1.

As we celebrate Mother's Day, we honor and thank all the women who have helped us become who we are. They may be our moms, aunts, grandmothers, teachers, community leaders, or church members. As I look around, I see many women who are inspiring change.
